The Commission for Upbringing and Education (KVV) is active, first of all, in the field of upbringing and education, culture, making use of leisure time and sport. In the field of the educational system the Commission gives opinion on the conception of the educational system, its fulfilment and budget.

It monitors and evaluates the activities of school and cultural facilities established by the Municipal District, their economy, operational ensuring and organization.

It discusses questions of out-of-school activity of the children and the youth and gives its opinion also on the problems relating to the children and the educational system, such as, e.g., school boarding of the children, preventive health care, economic operation of the schools, safety of the children or risky phenomena in the children population.

It deals with taking use of leisure time of the children and the youth, discusses the field of physical education and sport. It monitors the offer of activities and evaluates the events guaranteed by the Municipal District.

It ensures current information and background materials for decision-making of Municipal District Council.
It cooperates with the other Commissions of Municipal District Council, especially then with the Commission for Teaching of Languages and with the Commission for Grants and Structural Funds.
