§ 53

(5) If a path for pedestrians and bicyclists is established marked by traffic sign “Path for Pedestrians and Bicyclists” on which a lane is separated for pedestrians and a lane for bicyclists, the pedestrian is obliged to use only the lane marked for pedestrians. The pedestrian may use the lane marked for bicyclists only when going around, in and out of the path for pedestrians and bicyclists; then he must not endanger the bicyclists riding in the lane marked for bicyclists
- (7) A person leading a bicycle or moped may use the pavement only if he does not endanger the other pedestrians; otherwise he must use the right roadside or the right margin of the roadway.
Ride on a Bicycle
§ 57

(1) If the lane for bicyclists is established, path for bicyclists or if the lane for bicyclists and demarcated space for bicyclists is established on the crossroads with controlled traffic, the bicyclist is obliged to use them.

(2) On the roadway the bicycle is ridden at the right marking of the roadway; unless pedestrians are endangered or limited by it, the vehicle may be ridden at the right roadside. From the point of view of traffic on ground roads understood by a bicycle is also a scooter.

(3) Bicyclists may ride individually one behind the other only.

(4) If vehicles move slowly or stand one behind the other at the right margin of the roadway, the bicyclist riding in the same direction may overtake or pass by those vehicles from the right side of the roadway or on the roadside if there is enough space to the right of the vehicles; there he is obliged to take increased care.

(5) If the path for pedestrians and bicyclists is established marked by traffic sign “Path for Pedestrians and Bicyclists”, the bicyclist must not endanger the pedestrians going on the path.

(6) If the path for pedestrians and bicyclists is established marked by traffic sign “Path for Pedestrians and Bicyclists” on which a lane is separated for the pedestrians and a lane for the bicyclists, the bicyclists is obliged to use only the lane marked for bicyclists. The bicyclist may use the lane marked for pedestrians only in case of passing by, overtaking, turning round, turning and riding to the path for pedestrians and bicyclists; there he must not endanger the pedestrians going in the lane marked for pedestrians .

(7) The traffic lane for bicyclists or path for bicyclists may be used also for a person moving on skis or roller skates or similar sport equipment. There such person is obliged to follow the rules according to paragraphs 3, 5 and 6 and light signals according to § 73.

(8) Before riding to the crossing for bicyclists the bicyclist must make sure whether he can cross the roadway without endangering himself and the other participants in traffic on ground roads, the bicyclist may cross the roadway only if, taking account of the distance and speed of drive of the coming vehicles, he does not force their drivers to change direction or speed of drive. On the crossing for bicyclists they ride on the right side.
§ 58

(1) When riding, a bicyclist under 18 is obliged to use protective helmet of approved type according to a special legal regulation and have it on and fastened on the head duly.

(2) A child of less than 10 may ride the bicycle on a road, local road and public access purpose road ^1) only under the supervision of a person over 15; it does not apply to the ride on the pavement, cycling path and in residential and pedestrians' zones.

(3) Ride of two persons on a one-seat bicycle is not permitted; however, if the bicycle is equipped with an auxiliary seat for transportation of a child and fixed leg supports, a person over 15 may ride with a person of under 7.

(4) A bicyclist must not ride without holding handle-bars, hold to another vehicle, lead another bicycle when riding, a hand trolley, a dog or another animal, or carry objects that might make riding the bicycle difficult or endanger the other participants in the traffic on ground roads. When riding, the bicyclist must have his feet on the pedals.

(5) Riding in decreased visibility the bicyclist must have the headlamp with white light lit that shines forward ^2) and rear lamp with the light of red colour or interrupted light of red colour. If the roadway is illuminated sufficiently and continuously, the bicyclist may use a lamp of light colour with interrupted light instead of the headlamp with white light.

(6) A cart may be connected behind the bicycle that is not wider than 800 mm, has two red reflecting glasses of non-triangular shape located as close as possible to the side outlines of the cart and is connected by fixed connecting equipment with the bicycle. If the cart or its load covers, under decreased visibility, the rear outline red light of the bicycle, the cart must be provided with a red non-outshining lamp on the rear part in the left.

§ 10
Command Signs
(1) Command signs are
- k) “Path for Bicyclists” (No. C 8a) that orders the bicyclists to use the lane marked this way in the direction concerned; also a person leading a bicycle may use the lane or path; the lane or path for bicyclists may also be marked in its course by colour differentiated surface or different make of the surface; for other participants in the traffic on ground roads than those for whom that lane or path is intended their use is forbidden,
- l) “End of Path for Bicyclists” (No. C 8b) that ends the validity of sign No. 8a,
- m) “Path for Pedestrians and Bicyclists” (No. C 9a) that orders the pedestrians and bicyclists to use, in the direction concerned, the common lane or path marked in this way; the pedestrians and bicyclists must not endanger mutually; the sign ends the validity of signs No. C 7a, No. C 8a and No. C 10a,
- n) “End of Path for Pedestrians and Bicyclists” (No. C 9b) that ends the validity of sign No. C 9a,
- o)“Path for Pedestrians and Bicyclists” (No. C 10a) that orders the pedestrians and bicyclists to use, in the direction concerned, the separate lane or path and marks their situating; pedestrians and bicyclists may use the neighbouring lane only when going round or passing round an obstacle; the sign ends the validity of signs No. C 7a, No. C 8a and No. C 9a,
- p) “End of Path for Pedestrians and Bicyclists” (No. C 10b) that ends the validity of sign No. C 10a,
