Short Content of the Project
At present Prague 10 registers the total of 234 persons with serious health handicap.
The citizens with serious health handicap are disadvantaged in the labour market, they do not have equal opportunities in gaining employment and in maintenance of work positions. The families that take care of persons with serious health handicap are disadvantaged in the labour market, they also have problems how to join care for the person with serious health handicap and engagement at work from the time point of view.
The project is oriented at two target groups:
Municipal District Prague 10 participates in an improvement of the life of the citizens with serious health handicap and their family members. It helps those taking interest in getting out of the originating isolation and engaging into common life. Through the partners of the project it even helps, in case of their interest, in finding their places in the labour market.
In parallel, the project ensures care also for those who take care for the persons with health handicap. Last year the Social Section of the Authority of Municipal District Prague 10 addressed four hundred and eighty-eight citizens with health handicap and their families. In the form of question services of personal assistance were offered, transport service, such as taking handicapped children and adults to schools, to the doctor, to work and back, etc..
The project also offers educational activities and professional assistance in the engagement to the working process. It offers to the persons with health handicap and to those who take care of them the possibility to participate, free of charge, in computer courses, teaching of foreign languages, workshops oriented at gaining communication skills and development of personality.

The accomplishment of the project was ended on March 31, 2008 by final conference.
Within the framework of sustainability of the project Municipal District Prague 10 will continue in ensuring some activities from own sources. In parallel, Municipal District Prague 10 decided to follow up with this project by another project that would include the activities of the original project and still extend its coverage also by other disadvantaged in the labour market, e.g., parents on parental leave.
