The Section ensures the execution of state administration in transferred competence in the field of trade business, performs activities within the extent provided for by the trade law, fulfils other tasks provided for by special legal regulations and, further, as central registration point.

• it issues cards of trade licence for physical and juridical persons which are extracts from the trade register, decisions about cancellation of trade licence at the request of the entrepreneur, information about interruption of activity, or other facts
• it is the operator of the trade register
• it performs control of observance of the trade law, selected provisions of the law on protection of consumer, law on consumer taxes and law on limitation of operation of pawnshops and some other places of business at night time
• it imposes fines for violation of the trade law, for violation of selected provisions of the law on protection of consumers, law on consumer taxes and law on limitation of operation of pawnshops and some other places of business at night time
• it performs control of observance of the order of the Capital of Prague Market regulations, is authorized for imposing sanctions for the violation of the market regulations
• it ensures discharging of complaints and suggestions of the inhabitants belonging to the competence of the Section
• it issues certificates of registration to the records of agricultural entrepreneur
• it receives application for registration or announcements on the basis of a special legal regulation from persons conducting business on the basis of trade licence
• it receives announcements and reports in the field of social security from physical persons conducting business on the basis of trade licence, namely, within the extent provided for by special legal regulations
• it receives announcements from persons conducting business on the basis of trade licence about the origin of free work positions or their occupation
• it receives announcements and reports of physical persons conducting business on the basis of trade licence in relation to health insurance companies within the extent provided for by a special legal regulation

Secretariat:

• first of all, creates administrative support for the Head of Section and is the contact person for the Section
