Sorted Waste

How am I to dispose of the individual types of wastes?

PLASTIC:

To the yellow container the following belong:
PET bottles (scrunched), plastic shopping bags and bags, polystyrene washed milk products pots, plastic washing products containers.

To the yellow container the following do not belong:
Drink tetra-packs (juice, milk, wine, etc.), linoleum, cables, tyres, rubber, foam rubber, textile, polluted containers (oil and dangerous substances), plastic drugs containers.

PAPER:

To the blue container the following belong:
Newspapers, books, brochures, leaflets, office paper, journals, cardboard, notebooks, paper bags and packing, corrugated cardboard, spread paper boxes.

To the blue container the following do not belong:
Drink tetra-packs (juice, milk, wine, etc.), polluted and greasy paper, paper diapers, handkerchiefs and towels, carbon paper, wax paper, tracing paper and tar paper.

GLASS:

To the green container the following belong:
Glass and drink bottles – white and coloured (without closures), table glass, glasses, large glass splinters, glass objects of all kind.

On some glass bottles deposits are paid: wine bottle 1 l, mineral water bottle 0.7 l, lemonade and soda water bottles 0.33 l, fruit sirup bottle 0.7 l, beer bottle 0.5 l NRW, beer bottle 0.5 l ALE, mineral water bottle 0.33 l.

To the green container the following do not belong:
Mirrors, chemical products bottles, monitors and telescreens, car glass, wire glass, fluorescent lamps and bulbs, china, earthware, ceramics.

DRINK CARDBOARD:

To the collection container with orange cover and label the following belong:
All milk, milk products, juice, wine and other foodstuffs packing cardboards. The packing must be put in emptied, washed and squeezed.

To the collection container with orange cover and label the following do not belong:
Other types of drink packing (e.g., cans, glass and plastic). Chemical products and other dangerous substances cardboard packing, or drink packing polluted by dangerous substances. • Non-emptied drink cardboards.

BULKY WASTES:

To large capacity containers the following belong:
Individual pieces of furniture – wardrobes, tables, couches, mattresses, chairs, etc., floorages – carpets, linoleums, etc., metal wastes – girders, parts of car wrecks, sheets, beams, bathtubs, etc., sanitary ceramics – wash basins, toilets, electric waste – washing machines, video devices, biological waste.

To large capacity containers the following do not belong:
All so-called dangerous wastes, refrigerators, TV sets, liquid wastes, tyres, debris.

THE OTHER WASTES:

Dangerous waste – batteries, accumulators, spray containers, oils and fats (with the exception of edible), fluorescent lamps, residues of coating materials, including containers, thermometers, drugs, glues, gardening and home chemical products, solvents, acids, hydroxides, resins, car batteries, etc. – hand them in at stable collection points of dangerous wastes, at collection yards of the Capital of Prague or during mobile collection of dangerous wastes.

Portable batteries – apart from the above-mentioned possibilities they may be put into containers at authorities of municipal parts, at basic and secondary schools, within the framework of collection of product back also in some electric devices shops.

Refrigerators and freezers – hand them in at the collection yard of the Capital of Prague. In the territory of Prague 10 – Collection yard for Prague 10 and 14 – Str. Teplárenská 5 (in ca 300m at the right side from the Str. Průmyslová), bus No. 208, 212 – stop “Tiskařská”, tel. 272 700 952, 777 301 201.

Unused and old drugs and thermometers – hand in at a pharmacy, during mobile collection of dangerous wastes or at a stable collection point of dangerous waste.

Debris – up to the quantity of 1m³ per month it may be handed in at collection yards of the Capital of Prague.
Tyres – they are subject to the system of collection of product back, hand them in at the place where they were bought, or for the fee of CZK 25 per piece at the collection yard.

Drink cardboards – juice, milk, wine or other drinks packing – put them into special containers that are located at some sites of sorted waste containers.

Old textile – the best is to hand over at collection points of charity organizations. Collection of unneeded clothing is organized in Prague 10 by, e.g., the Red Cross (Str. Sámova 18: Mo, Tue, Fri 10:00 – 15:00 o'clock) or Diakonie Broumov (Str. Taškentská 1413: Mo-Fri 12:30 – 17:30 o'clock and Str. Dykova 1: Tue and Thu 13:00 – 16:00 o'clock). Collection of clothing is organized also at basic schools – see the specifications in municipal paper. Textile may also be put into special containers that are located in Street Topolová (BUS stop “Centrum Zahradní město”) in Street Počernická, in front of the post-office (BUS stop “Plaňanská”).

Car wrecks – to be handed over to the persons only that are the operators of the facilities for use, removal, collection or repurchase of car wrecks. In Prague the company Kovošrot Praha, a. s., tel. 271 085 208.
Wastes of the garden – to compost for own use, or a larger quantity may be brought and handed over free of charge at the Composting Plant pro Malešice in Dřevčická Street, next to the collection yard.

Mixed waste (remaining waste after sorting out of usable components) – put only to the containers intended for the object that you use.
