CLEANING OF PUBLIC AREAS

Cleaning of pavements is performed on the basis of the approved time schedule according to the extent of exposure of the individual areas in the whole territory of Municipal District Prague 10. The cleaning is ensured by the firms selected on the basis of selection procedure.

Controls of maintenance with the representatives of the individual firms are performed by the officials in charge of control of maintenance and cleanliness of the Department of Municipal Verdure and Cleanliness OŽP:

Cleaning of roads is ensured by Technická správa komunikací hl. m. Prahy (Technical Management of Roads of the Capital of Prague) within the framework of the so-called complex cleaning of roads, namely ca 2 x a year (the period of spring and autumn months). This cleaning is performed at the prevailing majority of roads. Further, TSK ensures, according to own cleaning programmes, further cleaning of selected main roads in the territory of the Capital. More detailed information may be obtained from TSK competent workers.

The control of complex cleaning of roads is performed by TSK workers (tel 296 826 013).

Cleaning of municipal mass transport and car track-lanes is ensured by Dopravní podnik hlavního města Prahy a.s.. If necessary, we recommend to turn directly to the workers of the department of complaints with particular requirements (tel. 296 192 067, 068, 033; fax 296 192 070).

Cleaning around containers for municipal waste must be ensured by the individual owners or managers of the houses regularly, namely so as to prevent putting wastes around the containers and prevent pollution of public areas. The cleaning according to the valid generally binding Decree 21/2005 of the Capital of Prague, on wastes, is to be performed in the circle of 2 m in all directions from the site of containers for municipal waste. Further, the owner or manager of the house is obliged, on the basis of the above-mentioned Decree, to ensure sufficient capacity of containers for municipal waste on the basis of the number of tenants who live in the house concerned and use containers for municipal waste (they are not only permanently registered persons).

Cleaning around containers for separated waste is ensured by the company AVE odpadové hospodářství s.r.o., namely, in the frequency of twice a week. In the territory of Municipal District Prague 10 that company attends both containers for municipal and separated waste. Containers for separated waste are attended according to the valid Operating Regulations (plastic – 3 x a week, paper – 2 x a week, glass 1 x in 2 – 4 weeks, tetrapack (drink cardboards) – 1 to 2 x in 14 days). The control is performed by the company AVE odpadové hospodářství s.r.o. (contact person is Mr. Pípal, tel. 296 339 911) and continuously by officials in charge of control of wastes and cleanliness of the Department of Municipal Verdure and Cleanliness OŽP according to the allocated areas.

Bringing of large capacity containers in the territory of Municipal District Prague 10 is again ensured by the company AVE odpadové hospodářství s.r.o. on the basis of the time schedule that is compiled by OŽP. The containers are brought to 76 different sites in the frequency twice to four times annually. The control is performed by the workers of the company AVE odpadové hospodářství s.r.o. (contact person is Mr. Lamačka, tel. 296 339 909, 912) and officials in charge of control of wastes and cleanliness of the Department of Municipal Verdure and Cleanliness OŽP according to the allocated areas.

Liquidation of illegal dumpings in the territory of Municipal District Prague 10 is performed on the basis of monitoring of the territory of Municipal District from the part of the officials in charge of the Department of Municipal Verdure and Cleanliness OŽP and constables of the Municipal Police of the Capital of Prague who control the territory of our Municipal District during regular rounds. During regular controls of public areas the centres of illegal dumpings are determined. On the basis of the performed determinations the illegal dumpings are further monitored and according to localization it is determined by whom the land is managed in which the illegal dumping is located. If:

1. the illegal dumping is located in a land entrusted to the management of the Municipal District, on the basis of an order its cleaning is accomplished.
2. the illegal dumping is located in a land belonging to the property of the Capital of Prague, those dumpings are handed over for solution to the relevant Sections of the Municipal Authority of the Capital of Prague.
3. the illegal dumping is located in a land in private ownership, the private owner is called on liquidation of that illegal dumping and regular cleaning in his land.

On the basis of experience also this year the Section of the Environment makes use of, within the framework of cleaning of public areas in the territory of Municipal District Prague 10, those punished by alternative type of sentence. Within the framework of public beneficial works the tipped areas in the territory of Municipal District are cleaned.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF AREAS OF PUBLIC VERDURE

The areas of public verdure entrusted to the management of Municipal District Prague 10 are maintained regularly on the basis of mandate contracts concluded with gardening firms that were selected in selection procedure. The performed works are controlled regularly by officials in charge of maintenance of verdure of the Department of Municipal Verdure and Cleanliness OŽP (see the below presented connections), or with called in representatives of the individual firms.

The other areas of public verdure are in the care of their owners who are responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of those areas.

Areas of public verdure in the ownership of the Capital of Prague – the maintenance is ensured by contractors´ firms that cooperate (as specified below) with the workers of the Section of Protection of the Environment and Management of Property of the Municipal Authority of the Capital of Prague.

2. Selected street lines of trees (Section of the Protection of the Environment, Department of Investments and Development of Verdure, Ing. Dědečková 236 005 814).
3. Areas of road verdure – green lanes (TSK hl. m. Prahy, contact person Mrs. Holá, tel. 296 826 013).

Areas of public verdure in the ownership of Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy a.s. – maintenance and cleaning of those areas are ensured by DP competent workers (contact person Mrs. Borovičková, tel. 296 192 276).
